URL Shorteners – How Helpful

As we all know that Twitter has a limit to 140 characters. Have you ever wish to post more than 140 characters tweet? I wished plenty of times to post at least of 160 characters instead of 140. Well sometimes we just can’t shorten description that we tweet; in that case we can shorten our link with the help of following sites:

bit.ly: I think you all must have heard about this site already as bit.ly is the default link shortner for twitter. The like this site the most as I can track number of clicks and tweets right from the bit.ly homepage. Try this out and tweet anytime!!

su.pr: This service is powered by Stumble upon. It is not only shortening service, you can also schedule your tweet and keep track on your links with the help of su.pr. It also let you know best time to tweet particular link as per clicks. The tracking results are not that comprehensive still other features are cool.

Tr.im: This service offers you analytics of your website and you can custom URL name. Not as good as bitly and supr.

Tweetburner: Tweetburner helps you shorten the links very quickly. This is a perfect straight shortener without any feature.

Cligs: Cligs is not as good as bit.ly. This service provides you real time analytics for your shortened link. Using cligs you will get to know the location of your visitors, referral statistics and also social media monitoring. The only disadvantage is that it won’t let you tweet right from the sidebar.

There is plenty of other link shortened site available. The five I have mentioned above are my favorite.
